The Neurology of Will Power (and how to improve goal setting success)
In this 80th episode I discuss some neurological concepts regarding Will Power. More specifically I discuss the Anterior Midcingulate Cortex and how it can have dramatic impacts on our ability to do those things we would rather not do, but know that they are good for us.
Just like working out our muscles, sometimes it takes a little effort to get ourselves up and out of our holes. And it is in the getting up and out part that builds this very important brain region.
I also discuss how the Anterior Midcingulate Cortex can be associated with depression and offer some insights into how to work with this brain region as a part of a strategy to work through or out of depression.
And lastly I discuss the link between "super aging": and the Anterior Midcingulate Cortex.
